Park Facilities Update

Due to the Little Bear Fire we are updating once again.

We are now working on a bath house.

These were things we did last year that not many got to see.

  • Paved entrance into the park
  • New water lines
  • New electrical lines and pedestals
  • Great Photo opt signage
  • Bigger and more convenient 30 x 60 RV   sites
  • New volleyball net

Just spent 11 days camped here. Had a great visit. It was a pleasure getting to know everybody. Hope to be back soon to see how your planned improvements are going. Thanks.

We spent a week here in May. It is a beautiful park and the people running it are so nice and helpful. If you are in the Ruidoso area I highly recommend Bonito Hollow RV Park. Can’t wait to see the new sites when we return next year.

First, I need to apologize for the lack of communication over the past couple of days. All of the phones in Ruidoso were out as well as the Internet. Things are back on now and here is the first update.
To all of our friends that have always called Bonito Hollow RV Park & Campground their home away from home and to our guests that were planning their first visit, the Little Bear fire has burned areas of Ruidoso and unfortunately our park has had some damage. We lost all the cabins, bathhouse, shop, pavilion and our home with all the contents inside. We were evacuated out of the park at 3:00 AM Saturday morning. We were able to get all of our campers and their trailers out safely but sadly we didn’t have time to get any of the contents out of our house. To our amazement the park and forest surrounding us is still filled with green untouched trees! Everything between the river and the highway was spared including our store and Terry and Jackie’s house.
We may not be able to have guests for now, but be assured that we will rebuild and make our beloved RV park an even better park based upon the needs of our customers to make your stay with us better than ever.
Once we can return to the park, removal of the burned structures will be completed leaving the park and campsites in their natural beauty and available for your camping pleasure. We want to emphasize that Bonito Hollow is beautiful and green. Just the structures are gone but the natural beauty of the land was untouched and as beautiful as ever.
We will keep you updated on the dates that we will be able to open up sites for camping this year. Please keep us in your prayers as well as the firefighters who are working so hard to save the forests and the many homes that are still in danger.
We truly thank all of you for your past patronage and look forward to the good times ahead. As always, drive safely to your vacation destination and keep Bonito Hollow in your hearts.
Please visit our website at http://www.bonitohollow.com to see for yourself how fortunate we were that the natural beauty of the park was spared.
